Text Box: Dr. Emad A. Rahim is the founder and current CEO and President of HSA of CNY. He earned a Doctorate of Management (D.M) with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from Colorado Technical University. He is certified in the areas of Project Management, Change Management and I.T and Business Transformation.  Mr. Rahim is a Certified Human Service Professional with several published materials on the subject matter of organizational behavior, organizational development, project management, adult education and public services. He has served on the Board of Directors for several local Human Service agencies and is also the current President of the PMI Chapter of Syracuse NY. Mr. Rahim has been in the field of Human Services and Public Services for over a decade and has developed and facilitated several leadership and empowerment programs and trainings for local organizations and educational forums. Mr. Rahim has worked in the capacity of both a service provider and as an administrator, with grant writing and program development experience.

Text Box: Text Box: El Java Williams Abdul-Qadir is currently a Residence Director in the office of Residence Life at Syracuse University.  He is also pursing a PhD in Social Sciences at the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University.  Mr. Abdul-Qadir brings over 10 years of progressive Human Service experience as a counselor, individual and family therapist, and a program coordinator. He developed and facilitated several empowerment trainings including: Effective Black Parenting, Kinship Caring, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, etc. He has served as a Board of Director for several local community centers and is currently a Board member of On-Point For College.  Throughout his academic and professional career, he has held several staff training sessions on providing social and emotional competency for youth and young adults, confidentiality in social work practice, and professionalism and ethics in the multicultural workplace.  In his capacity as a residence director, he has presented on college student leadership development, participated in staff recruitment, and served on the professional training and development committee.

Text Box: Steven Muhammad graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and is currently pursuing his Masters at Maxwell School of Public Administration at Syracuse University.  As a respected community activist, local entrepreneur, and motivator, Mr. Muhammad has evolved to become a qualified administrator for several programs. He worked as a Director of Workforce/Economic Development for the Urban League of Onondaga County.  He also served as an Outreach Coordinator for the Partnership to Reduce Juvenile Gun Violence where he supervised 10 outreach workers and case managers serving youth 13-21 years of age who had gun or weapon related charges or gang affiliations. Mr. Muhammad currently works as Program Director for the Southside Neighborhood Action Group (SNAG).  SNAG is a resident driven, community initiative that engages local residents to resolve local needs.  He assists in needs assessment research and studies of quantitative data related to community development and housing and administers a housing mini-grant program, the development of block associations and a summer youth neighborhood beautification program called Green team.

Text Box: Larry Owens is the current Program Manager & Workshop Facilitator of HAS of CNY.  
He is also the present Human Resource Director for a local insurance firm. He has founded and operated three convenience stores and was a former Regional Manager for a supply chain company. He holds a Post-Master of Business Administration in Ecommerce and a Master of Business Administration, concentration in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mr. Owens brings 14+ years of professional experience in business management and development. He has developed and taught several entrepreneurship programs throughout the East Coast.

Text Box: Khuram Hussain is currently the Board President & Chairman of HSA of CNY. He is also the Assistant to the Dean of Education and Special Projects at Syracuse University and previous Residence Director in the office of Residence Life at Syracuse University. He is also pursing a Ph.D in in Education, Cultural Foundations of Education, at Syracuse University. Mr. Hussain holds two Master’s degree from SUNY Binghamton University and is a certified teacher of New York State. Mr. Hussain has an extensive academic experience,  teaching and developing educational curriculum.  He published several respected articles including an interview which appeared in the Rolling Stone Magazine. In 2004 he received the Barbra Shineman Education Award from Syracuse University and received honors from The United States Institute of Peace Honorarium for his contributions in  American Forum for Global Education China Project Honorarium.

Text Box: Mirza Tihic is the current Business Manager of HSA of CNY. He is an established entrepreneur with over five years of successful business experience as the CEO for a local construction company.  He  is a leader in small business development with expertise in public relations. Mr. Tihic speaks, reads and writes several different languages and has participated in several economic transformation initiatives in both Europe and in the US. He holds a  Master of Science in Neuroscience and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration at Syracuse University’s school of management. He did an internship with the government in Bosnia, and has also been developing business initiatives
in Bosnia.

She is a member of ACRC and 40 Below and presently in the finial stage of  completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University. Mrs. Surratt’s  artistic creations can be located on all of the Redhouse’s advertisement materials and other local business adds.  She has also taught at the Metropolitan School of Fine Arts, previous Board Member of Westcott Community Center and Opera Voce, and won several national ACEL/ NAACP competitions, appeared in several theater performances and educational training materials.

He has created and modified the websites and security networks for several public service organizations and Ecommerce focused business as well as volunteering his time to help upgrade the technology of local small business. In his field, Mr. Verity has worked in the capacity of IT PMO, a Programmer, and as an I.T Administrator and Trainer.
